My approach to photography is as a contemplative artist who finds meditative and artistic practices to be mutually supportive. Through the practice of slowing down and looking deeply my intent is to find beauty and poetic metaphor in the ordinary and overlooked. Images become less about the actual object photographed and more about this shift of perception which brings awareness to the habits of the mind and ways that we see. I have lived in the Sedona, Arizona area since 1988 where I enjoy my artistic and meditative practices. I hold an MFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
